Deployment Savings
A deployment is a rare savings window. See what it can add beyond your normal pay, before it arrives.
This shows the deployment-specific extras on top of your normal pay, not your whole check. Your BAH usually continues, including for many single members, and BAS may be adjusted; neither is counted here. CZTE excludes base pay from federal income tax (enlisted fully, officers capped) but it is still subject to Social Security and Medicare. SDP pays 10% on up to $10,000, compounds monthly, and accrues through 90 days after the zone. FSA $300 and HFP/IDP $225 are 2026 DoD rates. Verify your eligibility with finance.
Deployment money is a window, not a windfall you can count on twice. While you're in a combat zone your base pay is excluded from federal income tax, you may draw the Family Separation Allowance and hostile-fire pay, and the Savings Deposit Program pays a guaranteed 10% on up to $10,000 that keeps earning for 90 days after you leave. Decide what it's for before it lands.
